Interviews are very important because they can fetch you your dream job. Professionalism is very much required if you are aspiring for a job in multi national companies. Companies may have casual dress code but when it comes to interview or IJP it is entirely different they require professionalism.
These are some of the most common questions which you will have to face. These questions will be there no matter what job you step into. Make sure that you read these questions and reply it to them in your own words. This process not only gives you confidence but it also makes you acquaint with the questions being asked.
Many companies have two kinds of interviewers one deals with the general process of the interview and the other tests you about your technical capabilities. There would be questions concerned with your previous jobs, your interest in performing the job, etc.
Technical interview will test you about your technical knowledge and your interest in performing that job. It also tests you on varied skills to test the level of your competence.
1. Describe about yourself
Answer to this question should be short and simple. Don’t make it a one liner per se but describe yourself. Here you will have all the chances to impress the interviewer so make sure that you tell about your achievements, projects done and positions held.

Make sure that you tell about yourself in detail. Keep it small and simple explain to him about all your interests, previous job, passion, hobbies, projects, etc. Just brief him about all your interests and passion without going into detail, if asked state him about it in detail.

I am down to earth person, sweet, creative, smart, industrious and professional. These are some of the comments and testimonials from my previous employer.
You can give him a general introduction about your self. It should state everything for example: -
• My name is ABCD and I have worked in ABCD Company where I handled ABCD project. I have experience of three years in this field. I am particularly expert in CGU programming and I have handled three projects on this specialization. I hold a valid passport and I represented our company to clients across Asia.
• For Fresher`s in general: - My name is ABCD and I completed my graduation in ABCD university with “A” grade and I attended for workshops in --------- company`s which taught me protocol and security features in a network. My graduation project was based on Web design and security features which I have completed with three of my friends. I am passionate about Open source programming and coding. 2) How was your work experience in your previous company?
This is a trick question in which you should be explaining about your work experience in your previous company. Be as much positive as you can during this question. Make sure that you tell about your technical and managerial experience. Work environment, meeting of deadlines, party`s, encouragement, motivation factors which made you to work should be stated.
3) What made you to leave ABCDEF Company?
Always the biggest mistake made by many people is to express negative feelings about your previous company. Rather express about positive side of your problems. If you are getting low pay make sure that you say that I looked for better pay structure than my current offering based upon the experience which I have.

When answering this question have a soft positive tone and don’t brood over the negative points of your ex- employer. This is the chance to tell about the research you have done on the company you have just applied for. Express everything you know about the company in an orderly fashion, don’t pick a point from here and there to impress the interviewer. Important interviewer knows much more about the company than you.

Before answering this question make sure that you do enough research about the organization before applying to it. Also do remember that the interviewer knows much more about this organization than you do. Try to have as much information about the job position also.
5) To how many organizations did you apply for?
Tricky question make sure that you be honest with him. Don’t spend too much time in this area. Tell about why you applied for this organization and in which way you can offer your experience to this concern.
6) Can you provide references about your work?
Be honest with this question and also make sure that you have documents which suffix about your work experience. Give your work experience documents from your previous employer which will suffix.
7) Tell me about your work?
Detail about your work area. This is one of the most important answer be as brief as you can and make sure you tell the interviewer about how you would like to expand you career and put your experience for betterment of the company. Technical knowledge and team play qualities should be described.
8) Did anytime in your career you fired any one and what was the reaction?
Important question for team leads, superiors, etc. While answering this question always remember that firing someone requires a detail description of why you had done it be specific and answer this question. Don’t take negative stance or positive stance organization should be the prime concern.
9) Why should we hire you into our organization?
In this question interviewer is not testing you but he is asking you to detail about your job profile and its relevance with the job description of the company. Make sure not to get defensive about this question.

Explain all that hates you around the work place or in your own work place it can be cluster of papers all around, neatness, music or sound, camera, mobile ringtones, etc. Don’t be pessimist and take negative stance.
11) Can you please explain me about your project and its benefits?
In this question the interviewer is testing your technical knowledge and wants to know about your project don’t expect him to be dumb he already knows about it. Make sure that you be as detail as possible.

11) Explain me about your project?
Fresher`s can explain about their graduation project and experienced people can speak about their previous project. If you have experience in a BPO you can very well state about your experience in a particular project you and your team members were involved in.
12) Was this project interesting?
Trick question he wants to know whether you were involved in the project and team played with others. Be specific and detailed explaining him all that he wants again which is basically your work experience. Tell him how you guys enjoyed after the project.
13) How long will you work with the organization?
Make sure that you answer this question with utmost clarity. Be honest and at the same time don’t make him/ her provoked to disqualify you. If you are planning for a retirement say it after ten years I will be retiring.
14) What were the timings of your previous organization are you flexible?
Interviewer wants to know about your late night shifts and shift timings. Tell him about how you completed the project by working late night or working on odd days which can impress him.
15) What is your passion?
Tell about your passion and how you are constantly developing it. Passion is something which you would like to do so express optimism and positive attributes while answering this question.
16) Will you relocate or take tours?
Answer this question honestly because that’s what you will be assigned with in your new job, tours and changing places. Make sure that you answer him honestly. A little bit of traveling is always present in jobs.

There should be questions to ask your interviewer. Otherwise you might have understood everything clearly and picture perfect or else you are dumb to understand anything. They should be related to your future employment.

When answering this question explain to him about your education background and some extra courses you learnt during the process.
You need to correlate your education background with the job opening. It would be added advantage if you can explain to him about the necessary features of the job.
19) Why did you choose this specific course or stream of study when there are these many options available to you?
When answering this question explain to him about why you choose this course or stream of study. What made you to choose this course, it would be an added advantage if you speak about the different projects you did. Also state or explain about your goal and higher education pursuits.

Right from my childhood I was always fascinated by the computer and its applications. In my school I learnt basic and then I never stopped my learning ability. Although I had several options I was always interested in devising applications for them so that the process becomes much easy. I was always interested in open source programming.
20) What will be the future of this industry?
You need to explain the current trend of the industry and then explain to him about future developments. This is very important because it shows you that you are going hand in hand on the developments of the industry.
21) What is your goal and what do you like to achieve in the near future?
Explain to him about the goal which you would like to pursue in the near future and how the company can help you achieve that goal. Have a goal which is reasonable and achievable because it gives you a feeling of accomplishment.

For this question you would be explaining to him about the most challenging project you undertook and the benefits you obtained by completing it within the deadline. This will explain to the interviewer about your necessary skills, management skills and team play.
23) Did you miss deadlines or target?
Be honest when answering this question because your previous employer will have everything on record and your current employer may request for it. Explain to him/her about the deadlines you have met during the process.
24) After five years in this organization at what position do you see yourself?
I would be writing my internal job posting exam and I would like to see myself in the post of supervisor or team leads. I like to be a Team lead after five years.
25) What made you to choose this college?
I gained admission into this college by writing the state competitive examination. Also my budget made me limited to this college. I gained much information about this college from the websites and the active student groups. I was also impressed by the Labs present for my field.
26) What made you to choose this company?
I did gain much information about the company through various sources. I learnt a lot about the company`s work environment, ethics, values, quality and team work from some of my friends working in your company. I also have relatives in project manager position that helped me a lot in knowing information about the company.
27) What experience did you garner from your previous projects and education how well did it prepare you for a career?
I obtained an immense experience from my education, team work, leadership, management skills and technical aspects from my project. I always learn from my mistakes and achievements. My teachers, professors helped me a lot for my international conference which was very successful. I gained international exposure in work ethics, management skills and technical aspects.
28) Why should the company hire you?
As per the job position the company has advertised I have the requisite skills and also I have done a project on that specialization which makes me the ideal candidate for the company. Also my professors LOR (Employers LOR) is with you which has a detailed description about my candidature. I am also a good team player which is very much required for the company`s.

29) In general we have at times conflicting ideas did you ever experience those?
Yes there was once a situation in which I disagreed with my professor on a particular topic (Advanced control systems) during his explanation. After the lecture I asked him my query and said to him that working in that model will not give us sufficient results he objected it. Later that night I worked on the theory and gave him a report which detailed about all the practical and theoretical implications if we had approached it in that fashion.
30) Will you do further studies?
Yes I would love to do further studies in my field. Presently I like to gain much more practical experience and then I would approach the company for further research and education which can benefit the company and increase my career prospects. I would also be moving closer to my goal.
